Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay . What are you doing for your mental health? ✨
The message I want to share today is that its okay to not be okay 💕 I hope in those times you have someone to turn to a feel supported. If you need someone to talk to, Ottawa has free walk in counselling. You can find locations here: https://walkincounselling.com/ Whether its job related stress, trauma, depression, and more, you can walk in for immediate counselling, no appointment necessary.
I’ve helped some people close to me with their own mental health struggles and the biggest thing was letting them know the lines of communication were open and supporting them through their journey.
Something that I get is anxiety. In times when I’m not properly taking care of myself its a lot worse. I’m lucky to have a great family that supports me and can usually point out when I need to slow down.
Back in June I did the @TELUS Wise happiness workshop and that was honestly an eye-opener.
Social media is something I love but everything needs to be in moderation. The @TELUS Wise happiness workshop helped me to be more mindful of my time online. The workshop invites you to think critically about your digital diet and the nourishing and/or depleting effects it can have on their well-being, while offering tips to help them break unhealthy digital habits.
My biggest takeaway from the workshop was having a healthy relationship with tech/social media. That’s why I implemented #nosocialstaurdays , as a way to refresh from the week. I also started doing yoga throughout the week. It’s one hour of full focus without my phone.
The workshop is completely free and you can access it here:http://telus.my/TELUS-Wise-happiness-LittleMissOttawa. In this digital world of ours, I think every can draw value.
Let today be a reminder to take care of yourself and those around you! Everyone is facing a battle we know nothing about. #TELUS_Partner #TELUSWise
