What is an image?
What is imagination?
I read a book by Jean-Paul Sartre, in which he quite succinctly delves into this interesting concept. What happens when we call up a mental image in our minds?
How do we know the image to be a true representation of the actual thing it represents? A photo, lacks animation, soul- what does that mean then if you look at a photo of someone else or of yourself?
And how does that change when you look at an image of someone you know? What are you actually looking at?
In any event, sometimes when you go down the rabbit hole, you end up at strange places. But it is of my opinion, that you need to go even deeper.
I met Carson, a young, stylish, beautiful, soft spoken and talented person, while visiting NYC.
This was another beautiful session with a creative mind. I most certainly didn’t have enough time to get to know him, but I am glad that the chance was there to at least, start the process.
He’s also a talented designer, and you can almost feel the passion when he talks to you about it. There’s a sensual side to him as well, and these are the kinds of shoots that resonate with me.
I would like to share a few images that we took, and I’ve included a few portraits as well.
Perhaps let’s play the game again- what would be his favorite place to visit? Maybe if you’re right, he’ll give you something wonderful.
