Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts floating around Facebook about how important it is for women/moms to take a girls trip. The idea is to get away, recharge, spend a weekend in a new city with friends and basically checkout of mom/wife life. It just hasn’t sat right with me though if I’m being transparent. The idea that I need an entire weekend (or more!) to get away from my family, spend money on just myself, and have adventures that I may or may not be sharing with my crew - eh, no thanks. 🤷🏼♀️ Life is hard and some days are just bad. I get it and I’ve had my share of bad days lately. Sometimes I hate that this space feels like my “highlight reel”, but that is the nature of social media. At the same time, I’m human and I need a big break from life every now and then just like you do. And THAT’S OK. But I’ll tell you what I have discovered... us moms can get that same break we are craving while doing something solely for ourselves without going on a trip. You can have something for yourself that feels like a release, feels like you’re breathing new oxygen, feels revitalizing and rejuvenating and doesn’t have to take up an entire weekend or cost you an arm and a leg! Thank you @rushcycle_woodforest for being that “thing” for me. 🧡🚴🏼♀️What’s your “thing”??
