As I am finishing up the text portion of my family course, I am thankful for choosing to follow through on promises I have made to myself. It is so easy to not follow through. NOT making this education/mentoring part of my business would have been loads easier. It is not like I am failing as a family/newborn photographer. But there is a passion that runs deep, beyond just running my own successful business- and that is helping others run one as well.
All the people who have chased dreams in life (song writers, poets, artists, coders, anyone who has started ANYTHING) have first had to keep a promise to themselves that they would START and then keep going. And then you’ll surely fail, shake it off, stand up and keep on keeping the promise. Everyone who has not settled for life that is less than they wish for has done simply that. Keep the promise. Keep going. It will be scary and people will have thoughts and judgements about what you are doing. Those judgements can feel like they weigh 1,000 pounds. There will be one million reasons to stop and return to the couch. There is one to keep going: because you said you would.
